PERSONAL AND LIFE COACHING
Janis Joplin (20th century American singer)
Coaching is the practice of assisting people with goal setting and achievement. There are a variety of forms, such as Performance Coach, Career Coach, Corporate Training Coach, Personal Spiritual Life Coach, Life Coach and Personal Coach.
Coaching is a therapeutic modality focusing on concrete changes in an individual's life and primarily appropriate for people who present the therapist with an achievement goal. Occasionally deeper issues underlie the stated achievement goal and therapy may be indicated.
Specific tools such as work sheets, homework assignments, visualization, timelines, exercises, etc., are employed to set up an individual program for the client to meet their desired goals.
The same confidentiality guidelines apply to both coaching and therapy.
Often an individual isn't clear about what they want but are clear about what they don't want. This can be an excellent starting point.
